I’m in New York City right now. Gosh it’s been fun! I haven’t been here in TWENTY-TWO years. It’s changed a bit. And the people seem friendlier than I remember. The good ol’ New York humor is still the same, though. I’ll have more about my trip soon. Riding the subway waas SO MUCH fun!!!

He’s Watching Us
June 25, 2010
Grrrrr. :nyah: I dislike crows. They seem to know that I despise them, so they gather in large groups and descend upon my house every morning (around 5am), to cackle and flap their wings and leave their ugly black feathers littered all over my yard. And then, they and blue jays gang up on my […]
I Love Your Blog Award
June 24, 2010
Awwww! Look what Chuck of Secondary Roads gave me! 😀 What a swell guy. Isn’t it purdy? I like bright colors. With this award, you’re supposed to list 10 things that you love. Oh gee, I can instantly think of a billion…. I’ll really try to whittle it down. I’ll get creative, since this is […]

Remember the lesson from Mrs Mecomber, girls and boys: NEVER buy anything online without first looking for promo codes and online coupons! I have saved a TON of money in so doing. I do a lot of online shopping (probably 70% of all my shopping is done online), so I am always looking for more […]
Apartment Hunting Made Easy

Unless you made your millions while in your 20s, or inherited a house after leaving home, you know that apartment hunting is miserable. I don’t know anyone who likes it. All that hunting through scads of classified ads, all that phone calling, all those appointments! I hated apartment hunting. Well, thanks to the age of […]
GOSH I Love Electronics!
June 24, 2010
OK. Confession time. I LOVE ELECTRONICS. My step-dad was an electronics repairman. As a kid, I used to spend countless hours with him in his huge workshop (which was an old one-story house that he converted into a workshop). Yes, there were FIVE rooms in that house, totally devoted to his electronics repair (mostly TVs […]
WFW: Speechless
June 23, 2010
It’s been busy here. When I’m very busy, I’m usually feeling stressed or rushed. I’m learning (finally) how to slooooooow down, even when there’s a lot to do. Sometimes it’s mighty difficult to keep from shooting off at the mouth when I’m busy or when things are not going as quickly or as well as […]

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 1-800-Flowers. All opinions are 100% mine. Ooooooook. Enough is ENOUGH with the rain. The Weather Dude said that we have had almost SIX (yes, 6) inches of rain for the month of June. :cwy: Add to that all the crying I’ve been doing because […]
American Media is WAY Too Self-Absorbed
June 21, 2010
Went to the Drudge Report today, and saw this. Aw, come on! Give me a break! The American flag at the bottom of the ocean?! “Summer canceled”?? I’m so sick of the media, really. And I don’t even watch television, so I don’t know how you TV-watchers can endure this junk day after day and […]
Get Glad with Glidden
June 15, 2010
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Glidden. All opinions are 100% mine. I went to the candy store the other day. That’s MY kind of candy. Isn’t it purdy? My local store has Glidden paint. When you’ve owned an old house, GOOD paint is your best friend. Good paint covereth […]

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
