A Lego Tutorial on Nationalized Health Care

September 11, 2009

My two bits

The kids and I found this cute. And very effective. I am 110% against nationalized health care. If federal health care is going to be ANYTHING like New York State health care, PEOPLE- BELIEVE ME- you don’t want it! It is sooo bloated, so full of fraud, abuse, and neglect that it’s crazy. Plus, this movie is correct- the wait times to get in to see doctors and dentists are insane. We have to wait 6-9 months to see a dentist, 2-3 months to see a doctor.

And all that is not to mention that federal health care is completely un-Constitutional.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Here’s the video, short and sweet. Even the kids got the point.

With 4 kids you must be paying an awful lot for insurance. We have 3 and pay $1200 a month and with my husband losing a huge contract and $10,000 a month we don’t know how long we will be able to keep paying it. Of course we will be making too much to get any kind of state help. I think there is a HUGE group of people who fall into this category. Health insurance is too expensive and they make too much for any help, so a national Healthcare program seems like a good idea. I mean a lot of people can’t get care period and wouldn’t mind waiting a couple months for an appointment. Can you imagine what it feels like to work your butt off and pay 1000s a month in taxes and NOT be able to receive any type of help when you DO need it because even though you don’t make enough to pay for insurance you make too much to get help. Then you watch people living on welfare and medicaid who should be out working and paying taxes and not sucking all the money out of the system.

We have a lot of family in London who have been on this type of healthcare for a long time. My FIL went through a heart attack and triple bypass using it. My MIL went through 4 pregnancies with it, (her youngest is now 18 so also 4 kids worth of Drs and dentist appointments) with no complaints.

I think that no matter what system is in place it will be abused. The system is abused now. Someone has to do something about the health insurance industry – it definitely isn’t working the way it is right now.

Hi Sheila! I moved your comment to the correct place. :) Thx for your comment.

Yes, there are a number of things wrong with the health care industry in the U.S., but…

1.) The U.S. government can not fix it. Not only do they have a horrible track record for “fixing” things, they also add a lot of “bloatware” and essentially ruin it more.

2.) The U.S. government has no LEGAL (nor moral, IMHO) right to control, mandate, regulate health care. I have no problem with individual states doing it, because the Constitution gives the states that right, and that also makes the Health Care Organizations more accountable to people on a local level. Once this hits the federalized plan, we are going to be just a number.

3.) One of the reasons why health care is so expensive in this country is because of insurance for malpractice. And THE reason for the excessive protection against malpractice is due to the government regulations and heavy laws and penalties. So the government created the problem! And now they want to “fix” it?? Historically, I have never seen the federal government do anything streamlined, efficient, and personal.

I hope this helps explain my position in this issue. I’ve been accused of “denying people health care” and that’s not it at all- that is slam attack, and not to mention, a lie. Prohibiting FEDERALIZED health care is not “denying” anyone health care. The STATES can do it if they want. The federal government has no business doing it.
