Atlas Slumped

Blabber

Is it lack of sunshine? End-of-the-winter blues? Exhaustion?

I’m bushed. And it seems that I’m barely chipping into the mountain of work that stares at me, day after day.

If I got no sleep and just worked for the next week, I might be caught up. Ugh! My house has never been messier, I’ve never been so disorganized…. ugh ugh!

I think I am ready for spring now, lol. It usually happens after February. February is a difficult month. It’s when winter’s cold seems colder, when the snowstorms seem more irritating, when the sparkly white snow that was so enchanting in December is now brown and ugly in hardened knolls. The grass may even start to peep out in late January for a time, and then WHAM here comes February to bury it all up again. And March is windy and damp, so even though it’s beginning to warm up a bit, the cold wet wind soaks the bones. I always feel colder in February and March even though December and January sport lower temperatures.

Ah, but this, too, shall pass, in it’s own time… I just need to keep plugging away. Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed (Psalm 61!!), I take a deep breath, remember God’s Word, fill up the coffeepot, and start chipping away one thing at a time.

1 Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For You have been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

I am really looking forward to spring cleaning this year, the house is a wreck. How about you? Are you ready for a seasonal change? Do you seem to be unusually busy these days? How are you coping?

      The only bad thing about spring is yard work! I will endure. Is Atlas Slumped a play on Atlas Shrugged?

      Karen- I agree with you about the yard work! I usually enjoy it in my leisure time, but I have had no leisure time!

      Yes, it’s a play on Atlas Shrugged. LOL :D

      I do feel overwhelmed!! I thought it was just me!!! I’m gonna start indoor projects soon and some spring cleaning. I’m just ready to open the windows a crack and get some fresh air in this house.

      I sure hope I am less busy after I’m done with my projects.
