Back to School Sales!

It’s almost time for the Back-to-School sales. I’m starting to see spiral notebooks, crayons, and packages of lines paper planted at the aisle ends in my grocery store. Sheesh, it’s still JULY, isn’t it? But actually, I can always use that kind of stuff (and we do school during the summer, anyway), so I usually snatch stuff up if it’s on sale.

For more serious back-to-school shopping, Buy.com is the place to go. Did you know that Buy.com even sells musical instruments?! Yes! Look at this clarinet- just $99! I don’t understand why parents wouldn’t buy musical instruments, and would rather rent them for their kids, especially woodwind and brass instruments. Do you have ANY IDEA how many kids have wheezed through that rental clarinet or trombone?! Disgusting! Just to think of it makes me a little queasy… :wha:

That clarinet is on sale at Buy.com right now. And it’s, what, the same price to buy as it would be to rent for a few weeks? Every parent with a wind instrument-playing kid should BUY their kid the instrument. Do your part to stop the spread of germy spit. Yuk.

My youngest son is *into* guitars right now, too. All the other kids have their own instruments, but he has to borrow The Hubs guitar or the older sister’s keyboard to play anything. Awww, poor kid! So we’ve promised to get him his own instrument. “Soon.” (As soon as this kitchen is renovated- I tell ya, the entire world is at a standstill until we get this kitchen done!!) Buy.com has some really nice Washburn, Fender, Takamine, Seagull, Yamaha guitars, as well as a bunch of lesser-known name brands. There are also some great guitar kits. This Squire Fender Stratocaster is nicely priced, and it’s a great starter electric guitar for a kid. Well-priced at $100!

Buy.com also has strings, cleaning solution, amplifiers, and more. Really good prices and selection for instruments. Do your part in society to stop the circulation of slimy rental instruments! And save yourself a lot of money, too! ;)
