A father and son from Brooklyn, New York, recently did a very cool experiment with an iPhone, weather balloon, and HD video camera. They created a homemade spacecraft, and launched the gadgets into space for a view of the earth.
100,000 miles and 70 minutes later, the balloon burst, and the spacecraft came plummeting back to earth. The iPhone provided the Brooklyn space enthusiasts the GPS location of the device. It’s too bad that the view of the earth from the stratosphere is all clouds, but then again, they did launch from New York State. :-p But the view is very cool!

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
