Hey, have you ever wondered what happened to that person named “Most Likely to Succeed” in high school? Or that best friend who moved away in third grade? Or your old pen pal with whom you lost touch ten years ago? Or what happened to that guy who took you to the high school prom but who also brought his *other* girlfriend from the other school district and you found out about it and you left the prom slamming the door in his face?
Me neither.
:grinny:
Yeah, I just look up people who have forgotten to send me their mailing addresses, too. Mmmhmm.
Well, I’ve tried *quite* a few “people finders” in my day. When I first got a computer, ten years ago, one of the neat things that I found was some online sites that could help me find my long, long-lost cousin and help with genealogy research. The concept was amazing- find people! Unfortunately, those old people search engines were not so hot.
But the Internet has matured, and with it, so has the people finder. Here’s a really neat one: MyLife. They have thousands of sources, including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, My Space, and loads more! They have a database of over 750 million names, so you’re SURE to find that classmate from third grade… or perhaps even that jerk at the prom. I hope he’s a janitor or a pizza delivery guy or something. (I am SO GLAD I am out of high school!!!!) I found my old pen pal from Philadelphia, that is so cool! This could be a good tool for genealogy research, too. Check it out at MyLife if you are interested. You have to register to get more detailed information.

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
