Woohoo! I feel like I’ve reached a milestone! Dd you know that most blogs don’t make it past their first birthday? It’s actually not easy, keeping a blog.
I started this blog on Leap Day, 2008. It was started as a way to make money online, actually. I was nervous about our financial future, as my husband had received notice that week that his hours were being slashed. It was a scary time, when my husband’s hours went from 36 hours per week to 6 hours per week.
While he still doesn’t have 36 hours per week, he is doing much better. And this blog has earned me some income the past two years. I am so grateful for all the support you guys have given me. I try to make my posts here entertaining, or at least informative. And I deeply appreciate your comments and input. This was my first “me” blog, a personal blog, and I had hesitations about it for a long time. But I have made SO MANY incredible friends here. I’m so glad that I did that domain name search and saw that Freaky Frugalite was available! Woohoo! Who-da thunk, huh?
So THANKS for your support all these years. Here’s to many more. 😀

How old is your blog? How did you come up with the domain name?

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

Cool! Mine is about 4 months old, but I got the blogger domain about 8 months ago to start experimenting. 🙂 Hope your husband gets LOTS of work soon! Well, not too much, but you know what I mean! 😀
Great picture by the way!

I started mine in January 2005. The domain I wanted wasn’t available and still isn’t but I’m stalking it so maybe one day. So, I’m not that creative and chose my name lol I had a secret identity blog and might start another one.

Congratulations.. Well, I started my first blog at work. It’s the blog I write for the garden center I work for..That one is called, “The Rutgers Reuters” which I started in January 2009… It’s full of gardening tips, etc., and I enjoyed that one so much that I decided to start my own. My own I started right before this past Christmas and love it.
I’ve always said, if I could stay home and be paid to blog I would.. I’m always curious how well they pay if at all, etc..
My name — I live on acres in Alexandria Township, NJ! 🙂

Yay!!! Congrats!!!
I love your blogs, they are very interesting and lined with humor. They keep my attention unlike many other blogs out there. Your reviews are in layman’s terms and honest. Your home renovation blog is a definite inspiration as well as an FYI for DIY’ers. Thank YOU for all you do. Your blogs are like reading a good book nestled under a warm blanket.
God bless!

Before I had my son, I worked in a pet store. Almost everyday a young boy named Jared would come in and visit us. Jared is autistic and coming to see the puppies soon became part of his weekly routine. He always used to ask me….Are you a mom? It actually was his favorite questions to ask everybody. And everytime I had to answer no, no I am not a mom…Well I was very excited when I went back to the store one day, after I had my baby and he was there. And when he asked me that question I could proudly tell him…. Yes…I am a mom! So that is how I came up with the name for my blog. AreYouAMom.com
It makes me happy to think of Jared every time I blog!

Congratulations! My blog is about 2 1/2 years old and was set up and named by my daughter. She had started blogging and thought I would enjoy it as well. I kept procrastinating-she got tired of waiting-so she did all the hard part and then told me about it. BTW, her blog is Long Winded Lauren (which suits her).

Leslie- Tranquil Acres is such a beautiful name for a blog. I used to work at a garden center. 😀
Blogging for pay is something that takes a lot of time before you really start to earn anything regularly. It sometimes difficult straddling the paid stuff without rebuffing readers. But my friends are very tolerant and supportive. I love them. 😀
I look forward to visiting your blog more often! I am following you via Google Friends. Have a blessed weekend!

Chuck- you honor me. 🙂 Has it really been about 2 years? I do think so! Goodness, how time flies! But you have made those 2 years much richer for me. 😀 I remember finding your blog back then, it was the Tommy Toe Award that got my attention, lol. Here’s to many more years!

Beverly- funny, a whole lot of us started blogs about 2, 3 years ago. Was it something in the air? LOL. Haha about your daughter! That title would more appropriately suit me than one of mine… see you on Monday!
