Have you checked out the sale this week at Buy.com? They have got some very, very classy stuff on sale right now. I’ve been scouring their website, looking for deals on stuff for the kids and the Hubs (and for me, heehee!). I never noticed it before, but Buy.com has a whole section of musical instruments! How did I ever miss this?! Everyone in the family plays instruments (the Hubs is an accomplished musician and songwriter, and the kids are writing their own stuff now, too). My youngest still does not have an instrument of his own (he borrows his sister’s stuff). He’s been wanting to play the drums for years, but drum sets are noisy, take up lots of space, and are expensive.
Oh, but LOOKY what I found!!! A gaming drum set, the Ion IED05 Electronic Drum Kit; isn’t it a beautiful? It’s only $145! It connects to the computer via USB and is something like “Guitar Hero” for drummers. And since you can plug it into the PC, he can use headphones. Sweet! 
It comes with everything (6 drum and cymbal pads, drumsticks, software, foot pedals, etc etc), has a drumming video game, includes music for playing along, the sounds can be customized, and performances can be recorded. It looks superb.
Buy.com also has loads and loads of electric and acoustic guitars (wait til the Hubs sees this), amplifiers, keyboards, traditional drum sets, microphones, speakers, mixers, and all the accessories for everything. It’s a musical gift-givers DREAM. Prices are good. Prices are always good at Buy.com, though. I buy my camera batteries and other household stuff from them, and have a list of electronic gadgets and small appliances to purchase. I love Buy.com- they have marvelous customer service, their prices are great, their sales are even better, and a lot of stuff has free shipping. Plus, they have a stupendous selection. And right now, Buy.com has a whole section of their website devoted to gifts for certain prices ($20, $50, etc) to make things much easier for me. I love Buy.com. :D
