Due to the mid-winter recess for school, I’ve been taking the kids out more frequently. They recently dragged me out to a few stores to get various supplies and stuff. I saw some great clearance stuff, but even so, retail prices were….
well…. YOW.
EXPENSIVE!
I need a new camera, because *ahem* overuse by certain someones have *ahem* broken the “shoot” button on my old one. And the lens, for some really weird reason, refuses to focus in the bottom corner. Since I have a travel blog and *try* to take professional-looking photos, I have to get a camera that works. At the store, I saw a very nice budget Kodak model, but guess how much it was on “clearance” at the store?
$230!!!!! Outrageous! Plus, I’d have to pay tax.
Well, with me being the savvy, smart, freaky frugalite that I am, I decided to check online for the exact same model at Buy.com. Guess how much? Go on.. GUESS!

$110!!!!! With free shipping!
In case you are wondering, that’s the Kodak Easy Share Z8612 Camera, 8 megapixels, 12x optical zoom, 21MB internal memory, 2.5″ LCD. You can see Buy.com’s Kodak Z8612 here. I tried them all out at the local store, and I really prefer the Kodak. Kodak has the best color of any camera, and the optical zoom photos had fantastic quality. Plus, the Kodak is bigger than those tiny compact cameras (the ones I always seem to drop). It has a rubber grippy handle for clumsy folks like me, and it is extremely lightweight. I love it and I am going to get it!! I’ll be sure to post a review when I do.
I love Buy.com. They have really climbed to the forefront of online deals. They have a weekly online sale page to check for deals every week. The prices are mind-blowing, but then there’s also the free shipping on some stuff, and the great customer service. Check out Buy.com! Freaky Frugalite gives them THUMBS UP!

Well my camera is dying, and this looks pretty good. I’ll be anxious to hear how you like it.

I have the same problem with my camera. Now I have to figure out why the flash does not work. I have never been on Buy.com, but your post is the second today that I have seen suggesting to shop there. Maybe it is a message from the internet (or is that Google in disguise) that I go shopping at that site
