Latest News

In case you didn’t know, I write articles. How-To articles, mainly.

ALL. DAY. LONG.

I write for a few companies, and then there’s my neato new blog, The Older Geek, which I love. Sometimes, I am given ideas as assignments. Most of the time, I have to come up with my own.

:bangwall: Well guess what I’m doing these days?!

NOTHING! You’re right! I have run dry on ideas. So I’m asking for help from you guys. Can you guys give me some ideas? Ask me anything, anything you want to know how to do. I will research them and try to write about it. I especially like to write computer and software how-to articles. You can take a peek at The Older Geek for some examples. I also like to write about home improvement, and gardening, and other stuff.

Could you please take a minute and give me some ideas? You can email me or leave a comment here. Ask as many questions as you like, the more the merrier. I’ll let you know when I have completed them!

I’m sick with a sinus and head cold and the inside of my nose feels like it’s on fire. What’s the best way to soothe the inflammation? Using a Neti pot only makes it feel better for 5-10 minutes. That’s my most pressing how-to question at the moment! :)

  7. Rebecca Says:

Holy cow!!!! You are are just AMAZING! I checked my email this morning to see a truckload of comments and questions. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!

Jay- wow, I’m a genius, huh? lol. Because I said to you, “This is how you change your navbar” do you believe? You will see even greater things than these. LOLOLOL!! (Can you tell I’ve been reading the Gospel of John lately??). I’d forgotten about writing how to Stumble a post. I will get to that ASAP!

Cindy and Penny- those are great questions! I know a lot of other people could benefit from these, too. So ask away all you want!

Alice… ummm I’ll see what I can do. Seriously. But only if you are willing to give them a try, lassie.

Carole- you will keep me busy for months! Yay! Thanks for that list. Some of those are things I want to try out, myself.

Janiss- I am so sorry about your cold. :( I will look up soothing inflammation. I hope you get better before I finish, though.

To everyone- thanks for taking the time to ask. Keep it up! At ANY TIME, just leave a comment or send an email. I am storing them in a notepad and will do my best to address them.

I’ll let you know when I have the answer; I’ll post the links here so you can read the articles.

Thanks again, I love you guys!

    3. Add tabs to your Blogger template.

  9. Rebecca Says:

Thanks, Chuck! I’m adding these to my List! :D

  10. John | Daily Photo Gallery Says:

My list won’t be as impressive as Carole’s, but here goes:

    1. How to embed Google maps in a blog post.
    2. How to remove mould.
    3. How to spot a rubbish movie before you buy it.
    4. How to make flowers last longer.
    5. How to predict the weather with a barometer.
    6. How to make Chinese lanterns.
    7. How to find royalty free stock photos.
    8. How to politely get rid of unwanted door-to-door callers.
    9. Which ingredients to buy to make the greatest variety of cocktails.
    10. How to identify different animal tracks.

No sure if any will be suitable though!

  11. Rebecca Says:

John, those are spectacular! I will look into them (and some I already know how to do).

I will be posting links to the complete articles here, as I finish them. I’ll be sure to link back to you as the inspiration! :D

I can’t thank you enough, all you who have left your ideas. It really does help.

  12. Vixen Says:

I actually had a couple of ideas to add, read the comments and see they are all covered there! Can’t wait to read the how-to’s!

“Because I said to you, “This is how you change your navbar” do you believe? You will see even greater things than these.”

Oh my gosh, Mrs. M! Hilarious!!!!! :)

I suggest anything gardening related… like how to turn your clay soil into rich soil with thriving plants. Or how to frugally start a garden.
In my case, the grass really is greener on the other side. My neighbor can grow anything wonderfully, and everything I plant doesn’t grow very well… except weeds.

You could also write about how to do all that stuff related to home renovation.

Alice, let me know how the frog legs taste! :) LOL

  14. akaGaGa Says:

Well, you obviously have lots of food for fodder, but here’s mine: How do you back up your computer? I’ve been using the Vista built-in program which only works with CD’s. But now it locks up my system so bad I’ve had to use the system restore multiple times just to get it running again.

P.S. Will I be invited over for frogs legs? :)

  15. Penny Raine Says:

As I was looking up wiring info this morning I thought of you. You also have great info from your posts at your home restoring site. Don’t forget all that.
Wow, Carole, I might snag some of those ideas for my how to ebooks :) I have Making Homemade Deoderant almost done, if I could just get off this wiring project with hubby.

  16. John | English Wilderness Says:

Hi Rebecca, I was thinking of you today when I had to look up three things :-)

    1) How to bleed a radiator
    2) How to prepare oysters
    3) How to fold a napkin

  17. Rebecca Says:

John, those are terrific! And I am honored that you thought of me! Well, I know how to do two of those three things… my list is growing!

  18. Rebecca Says:

Jean, you can come on over and eat all the frog legs you want. Cuz I’m SURE there will be plenty uneaten! ;)

    I’m making a list… wow, it’s a big one. LOL Thanks guys!

its easy to write just about any article…all you gotta do is simply read and read more about it….and when you feel this much is sufficient…..then write down an article.
