I saw this at Sparkle’s blog: In Celebration of the Outstretched Paw. Wow! I’m glad Sparkle is so knowledgeable about all the holidays for cats; I had no idea there was such an endless stream of holidays and celebrations for my favorite animal!
I thought my Cat, Livvy, would want to participate in today’s meme. She’s rather bored and lonesome these days; we’ve locked her upstairs while we gut the downstairs of the house. I don’t want her exposed to all the plaster dust. She has been QUITE desperate to come down, and has been getting a tad cranky. I’m hoping that today’s diversion will improve her spirits. So without further ado…. in celebration of the outstretched paw!
Livvy is a polydactyl cat- she has six toes. She also has a little kink at the end of her tail, like an extra joint. She doesn’t seem to let her unusual physique handicap her in any way.
Here is the princess REALLY celebrating the outstretched paw. I think she’s trying to outdo her fellow cats by celebrating the outstretched CLAW. Don’t be such a show off, Livvy!
This is her “Sphinx” look. TWO outstretched paws here, folks. Doesn’t she look fiercesome, mmmm mmmm mmmm.
This cat is GOOD. She even celebrates in her sleep.
Here is the outstretched paw attempting to grab the camera.
Sleeping. Again. It’s a tough life, she needs her sleep.
And for the grand finale…. here she is watching birds out the window.
Happy Outstretched Paw Day!
Now, back to the outstretched crowbar, for me. :S

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

When it comes to the Outstretched Paw, polydactyls have all us other cats beat! Because you know when there are extra toes, there are also extra CLAWS….

I love the photo of her sleeping on the counter in the sun… so relaxing!
