Moms, did you happen to notice the Similac baby formula recall? Abbott Labs said that certain types of the baby formula may contain beetles or larvae!!! YUK! You can read more about the recall here.
This just goes to show you that the store brand formula is NOT better than the generic stuff! I am a generic-brand shopper. Generic brands can save you a ton of money. And when it comes to baby formula, the ONLY difference between the generic brands and fancy name-brand formula is PRICE. You have the dubious honor of paying nearly 50% more for that fancy package and name brand stamp. Big whoop.
Moms, all infant formula is regulated by FDA standards. All formula sold in the United States must provide the necessary levels of nutrients for the babies. The generic and name brand formulas are the SAME. Except in price. And except for bugs in the cans…. :-p
Parent’s Choice is a great choice for your baby. And the packing is even pretty, too.
It contains prebiotics, vitamins and minerals, and is available in two very convenient sizes. You can find Parent’s Choice in local retail stores, or even online.
This is the time to switch to generic formula. Check out Parent’s Choice!

The recall didn’t phase me too much, honestly. Marshal is almost done with formula…mostly just at night before bed. We’ve moved on to whole milk.
I wish they made generic organic whole milk. lol But even the expensive whole milk in organic is still cheaper than the formula! Although with all the Similac checks I got I rarely paid full price for it. With his sensitive tummy I did not want to switch his formula more than the one time we did.
