Probably the biggest thing that blows my mind about the Internet is the ability for us all- in whatever part of the world we may be- to communicate with each other. English is a difficult language to master, but it seems to have become the official language of the world (at least, for world commerce and communication). I am awed by the ability of people from, say, Malaysia, Zimbabwe, Norway, and the Philippines, who write and read English so well. Certainly, in some cases, the English is not perfect, but I think it’s terrific considering it’s not a first language to many and considering the complexities of the English language. And I like to delve into other languages myself (one of my hobbies is studying language and the history of language).
So, there’s a pretty cool website I found devoted to languages, although it’s more of a “help” website: http://www.correctmytext.com/. This website allows people to input their text to be proofread, so as to be checked by native speaking experts, and altered, if necessary. And you can also help others by checking their text in your native language. It’s a neat site, and very simple- and a great education. Check it out for more information.

I can understand thinking that something is a good idea at first, and then seeing that it’s really not after coming up with a sketch. Spending a lot of money to build a prototype makes me wonder, however. Of course, after spending all of that money, they almost have to then insist that it is a great idea-right?
