Woohoo! Another week begins! I like Monday, but I always seems to get a late start (I work at home, and the kids are homeschooled). I don’t know why I do this meme so late- sorry, gals! I should do it on Sunday nights, but I am always so tired then!

Well, anyway, this weeks questions are fun ones. I look forward to visiting blogs and seeing your answers.
Questions:
1. Have you (only you..not a group) ever won first place in anything?
I don’t win contests very often- the random kind. I just don’t seem to be a “lucky” kind of girl. I always remember what Thomas Jefferson said of Luck: “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.” Well, that fits me perfectly. I may not win many random contests, but if effort is in the game, I usually put my entire effort into the project.
So, YES, I have won a contest before! I won a video contest! It was called “My Hometown,” and I won $1000 dollars for First Place! It was a really special event for the kids, who did some great work as the “stars” of the video. My husband and daughter did the music, too. Here is the video, if you want to see it.
The contest was sponsored by a blogging company. I am a pro-blogger (I blog for pay, and you’ll see why when you read question #2) and I write advertisements for everything from cell phones to plus size clothing for women. It’s a job that allows me to stay home and raise the kids AND pay for a million things around here.
2. Are your toes always painted (sorry guys…this question for girls only)?
Um, only when I have done renovation work in bare feet. They’ve been green, red, white, and beige! We renovated our kitchen this year. We did everything ourselves, and the kids were AMAZING. Unfortunately, all our clothing was painted along with our feet- we now have tons of designer label clothes a la Sherwin Williams. ;)
My blogging is helping to pay for our kitchen! Praise God!
3. What color eyes do you have?
Weird color. Brown. LOL.
4. Look to your left….what do you see?
My cluttered desk filled with a bag of women’s tall clothing that I have to rifle through, my camera filled with photos that I have to edit, and a small box of cranberry-covered chocolates. Guess which one is calling my name the loudest?
5. Soft cookies or crunchy cookies?
SOFT.
Off I go to visit your answers! Have a blessed week!

aiNe- The house was built in 1855, and the kitchen had been done by previous owners in 1970. The rest of the house has been relatively untouched. We are in the process of renovating it, a little at a time.
Thanks for your comment!

Fantastic job on the kitchen, it looks so much larger by taking out the cabinet. I am sure you enjoy your island, such a great workspace!
The chocolate would have been calling my name, or should I say screaming! I saw a trainer at the gym this morning and he wants me to keep a five day food journal!!!
LOL
I may eat a good breakfast but it is all down hill from there. when he asked if I ate 2 snacks a day I said “sure, at 10:00 I have 2, maybe 3, small Milkyways, then sometime during the afternoon I eat cookies.”The look he gave me was priceless!

1855?! OMG! That was such a looooooong time. BTW, I’d love to see the “ater” result of the renovation. Hope you can share it with us.
Thanks for dropping by my site. I’m following you now from my new home.
Have a nice day!

Your video was great. I can see why you were awarded a prize. Your kids were really good sports in following your direction. Maybe you have some budding actors there? I love seeing other people who have fantastic teenagers because I dislike all the bad press teens get which is often unfair.
