Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand November marches on….
I’m still reeling from the time change (Daylight Saving). Meh, I hate DST. Why, why, why? It’s like evil revenge on those of us who don’t fly in jets. What if they gave a Daylight Saving Time and nobody did it?

Here are this week’s questions….
Questions:
1. Are you excited for the holidays or are you dreading them?
Neither. Well, maybe more dreading them than excited for them JUST BECAUSE I want to stick to the budget but the prices of things keep going up and up while my pay remains the same or lower. We don’t do anything for Christmas, so that eliminates a TON of stress. We celebrate Thanksgiving Day, and give each other one gift. Every year, it seems that everyone I know bemoans the enormous amount of stress and money spent on the holidays, and I sympathize! The holidays are much too commercial. But we make them commercial, don’t we? What if — like Daylight Saving Time — we refused to do it?
2. Do you hit the snooze button or get right up?
Oh I used to be SO energetic in the morning! I would bounce out of bed right before the alarm went off. For a few years, I didn’t even need to use the alarm. But somewhere along the way, I got exhausted, lol. Now, I hit that snooze button. A couple of times, even.
3. Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes. Unfortunately. They are such a pain. 🙁
4. What was the last piece of candy that you ate?
Hmm…. I think it was… M&Ms. My husband brought home a little “handy size” pack from work. We don’t do Halloween so I don’t have any candy in the house. I probably seem like a real fuddy-dud because we don’t do any holidays, I am a fun gal!!! REALLY! :jetters:
5. Do you shop at thrift stores?
Yep. I shopped exclusively at thrift stores for many years. Only recently have I purchased some new stuff for the kids and I. I always bought brand new shoes and undergarments, but the kids always wore hand-me-downs until only recently.
How would you answer these?
Have a great week, friends! 🙂

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

1. Like you, neither. They will be spent with family.
2. Fired the alarm clock years ago.
3. No, had them out at age 29.
4. One of those teeny tiny Tootsie Rolls.
5. Sometimes.

I always look forward to the holidays! Time off work is good! I’m surprised you don’t do anything for Christmas. How could you not celebrate Christmas?
I wake up before the alarm and get up when it goes off, unless I’m especially eager to get extra time on the computer.
Babe Ruth was the last candy I ate unless you count the Andes mint which I ate after that.
Still have my tonsils.
Just discovered a good thrift store that I plan to start shopping at.
