Why are recycled products more expensive than the non-recycled products? Take decking, for example. That Trex decking material is constructed from old tires and etc. It’s a cool product, and I’d love to buy it, but it’s 2-3 times more expensive than plain old pressure-treated wood taken from the Amazon rainforests! And recycled garbage bags- you’d think that they’d be cheaper than the others, but they cost twice as much! Why is this?
Why do people have “Save Our Earth” bumper stickers and t-shirts, and then toss out litter from their cars, or spit their bubble gum all over the WalMart parking lot?
Why does it take 4 to 5 “business days” for a bank deposit to count toward the balance, but deductions and payments are processed within 24 hours?
When you pay credit card bills online-when it is REALLY REALLY important to pay them on TIME- why does it take the credit card company FIVE days to finally process the payment?
This is more an observation than a question, but did you ever notice that the love of the beauty of nature is universal? No one ever sees a brilliantly-colorful sunset or a majestic, snow-capped mountain or a blossoming, colorful flower and says, “That’s ugly.” It’s universal- EVERYONE breathes a sigh and says, “That’s beautiful.” And the same goes for the “concrete jungle.” No one ever looks at a vacant parking lot with gray concrete blocks and breathes a sigh and says, “How beautiful.” It’s universal. Now, why is that? :shades:
What do you wonder about?

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

These are very good questions and I love your observations at the end. I saw some recycled poop bags for dogs in PetSmart and grabbed them, but then put them back when I found cheaper ones that weren’t recycled.

Funny. I think most “recycled” products are kind of a scam. I love the idea but they actually take more energy and money to create. So what’s the point?
My favorite why though…why would a person with an “I don’t shop at Walmart” bumper sticker be shopping at Walmart? lol Saw their car in the parking lot. hahaha

I once wondered how the word “scribble” was invented.
😀
Odd it seems only to those who are not accustomed to thinking deeply.
I also wondered why all some atheists talk about is God. And, how He doesn’t exist. Just a thought.

I wonder why a lot myself…about many things. Good post.

I finally got tired of certain credit cards posting my bill so darn late that I incurred late charges, so I do all of my payments online now. They were letting the payments sit in a P.O. Box for so long! Sirius does that especially. Then they cancel your account when the payment has been sitting in their box for more than 2 weeks! Now I make note to send the money in extra early! Ugh.
