My Gift

Dear Diary

It always seems that the most gracious people are shocked when you tell them how gracious they are. Isn’t that wonderful! They are so gracious, they don’t even consider themselves to be so!

Fida Abbott, the recipient of an award that I passed on (I gave her blog the Arte y Pico award) was so overwhelmed that she made me a lovely virtual gift: a cross-stitch sampler. Isn’t it lovely?

Even more than that, I think Fida is lovely. She seems to epitomize what a lovely and beautiful Christian woman should be. Oh sure, she probably slips up and hollers at her kid or gets mad at her husband like we all do from time to time. But there’s a pattern of lovely grace in her behavior- do you know what I mean? It’s very inspiring.

I want a pattern of good works in my life, and have it said of me that I only slipped up from time to time, rather than the opposite be true. I don’t want it to be said of me that I was miserable and cranky and from time to time I was accidentally gracious. lol.

I’m so tired of reading blogs that complain about Christians and their behavior as “hypocrites.” As if these people who scoff Christianity know more about Christian behavior themselves, lol. But being a Christian and being a blogger is serious responsibility. A Christian should never leave her Christianity at the back door of her blog, should she?

So Fida gave me more than a cross-stitch picture. She gave me inspiration, which is far better.
