My New Car!!! Woohoo!

Family

I got one! I got a Hyundai Sonata!! Isn’t she a beauty?!?!

Doesn’t it look like something out of an old James Bond movie?!

The kids love the sun roof. :D

We’ve been searching for a new vehicle for about 6 weeks now. It has been difficult finding one in our price range for low mileage… and honestly, the mileage on this Sonata isn’t the greatest (133,000). But Hyundais are renowned for their longevity (must be the Japanese influence). I’ve read reviews of these cars chugging along up to 225,000.

It’s a 2004, the newest car I’ve ever owned. I *wanted* a 2005 or 2007, but the prices were too expensive at the auction. But this 2004 is loaded, and has had only one owner, who took very good care of the car. And he wore a LOT of cologne. :sik:

The kids are nuts about it. It seats three comfortably in the back. Woohoo! Looks like we can travel again! I am FLIPPIN’, people! :jittery:

The car needs new brakes and rear wheels, other than that, it’s in great shape. I’ve wanted a sedan for SOOOOO long. We’ve had Dodge minivans for 17 years and I was ready to be a *normal* driver again. That, and I tired of paying $2000 for a new transmission every 60,000 miles. :-p

PLUS, the horn on the Hyundai is HONKING LOUD! I’m a freak about horns. I live near a metropolitan area, with lots of crazed college kids and/or geriatrics on the road. My Hyundai horn passed the GETTHE&%@#OUTOFMYWAYYOUMANIACDRIVER test.

Sweet.

SWEET ride! How fun to get a new car, eh? :) What a coincidence that you posted this just as I was coming in from getting my Dodge van back from the shop….to the tune of $1054.00!! Ugh. If I didn’t have one car payment already, I’d be car shopping too.

Congrats on your new car! We love our Kia. It was the first new car I ever had. Don’t know about that sun roof though. I think it would be extra hot in the summer and afraid it would leak in the winter. Hope I’m wrong about that. Enjoy!

I just a got a “new” car, too! Traded my 1996 Jeep Cherokee for a 2001 Volvo wagon. Congratulations on your score. You’ll love the sunroof!

Very nice! I love the ‘eyes’. One day i’d like a sedan again but we keep moving to places where SUV is the way to go. We got a truck in ’02 new and by taking as good of care as possible, it’s still getting us reliably around. Sunroof has held up through rain, ice, and intense heat, and sandstorms ;D Your Hyundai is really cute… may it hold up just as well! Oh for the cologne … during our last move, our truck was stored away for 2-3 months AFTER a driver (delivering it to the port) had smoked in it. When opened again… it was horribly stinky! I used fabric cleaner on the carpets, I used an entire bottle of febreze on the interior, then I sprayed over top of that an entire can of lysol.. then I closed it up tight and let it sit for 24 hours. Then, I cracked the windows and sunroof and let the chemicals air out for another 24 hours. Smelled great after that. Neutral.
