Look at this gorgeous dresser! It’s all solid wood and has fluting on the sides! It also has elevated, carved legs, and egg-and-dart moulding around the drawers. Isn’t it pretty?

Dresser

No, it’s not brand new. I GOT IT FOR FREE!!! *does happy dance*

My pastor’s wife and my daughter were out on an errand, and spotted it on the side of the road. And they thought it would be perfect for me! I haven’t had a nice dresser in years- all my clothes have been willy-nilly in various boxes. I just never got around to buying a new dresser (I’m such a fussy shopper). I have seen some OK ones at WalMart and etc, but I couldn’t force myself to pay $150 for a laminate-wood piece of junk that would fall apart in a year. SO I procrastinated… year after year.

Well, this new dresser is in PERFECT condition and guess what? It’s SOLID WOOD. wooooo! It has a few minor scratches, but whoever had this dresser took very good care of it. I guess they didn’t want it anymore for some reason, because they put it on the side of the road with some other stuff, for passers-by to grab before the trashmen got it. That’s when the ladies saw it and they thought of ME, little ole me!!!

I am blessed. :D

Hey, the scratches give it character. It might be fun to make up stories about wher the dings might have originated.

    Hello Mrs. Mecomber.

Yes, it is pretty, I like it, too. You are lucky. I also got it free like that 5 years ago. It was in a good condition but needed repainting. Three years later after I moved to a new house, I decided to paint it in the summer. I also change the accesories and, voila!!! It looked new.

Btw, I wish you will get First Book of Amerindo in series as a Thanksgiving gift from your family. It would be honored for me if you own it and perhaps will give a review one day.

    Have nice summer!

What a great find! I can’t believe it was sitting out at the curb, their loss is certainly your gain!

I love other people’s junk. We use to have spring clean up and people would set out some of the most amazing things and it never bothered me to oblige them and remove something if I wanted it. I loved watching people ride around looking for treasures. One year when we set out a bunch of stuff it was gone within 30 minutes even my old mannequin heads that I had practised on in school.
