We play music *all* day here. The kids work at home, and I like to have (hopefully) quiet music in the background. I say “hopefully” because sometimes the kiddos want to bee-bop to Newsboys or Kutless or something loud and fast. I have a difficult time paying attention to my WAHM (Work-At-Home-Mom) tasks with screaming guitars and jungle beats blaring in the background. But I enjoy it when it’s playtime. 😀
All we have is a measly old CD player. I’ve been in the prospects of getting something a little more updated. I recently read a news story that the CD is starting to go the way of the cassette and LP record, because music is being digitized. The kids have been clamoring for mp3 players and/or more CDs.
I saw this honking baby on the Net and my jaw dropped open. It’s gorgeous!!! It’s the Yamaha PDX-60.

It can do many things, but it’s basically a high-tech, high-quality speaker system for the iPod. But there’s a lot more than just a speaker system- it has yAired technology, which means it has wireless capabilities: for remote control; to synchronize your audio/video stuff; and there’s no pairing needed (as with Bluetooth), and you experience no loss of quality or speed delays.
Plus, the Yamaha PDX-60 has a charger built-in, so you can enjoy you music, videos, and games while your iPod is being charged. The unit also works with iPhone and comes in different colors. It would make such a nice gift!

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

I wouldn’t have a clue how to use this. We still use CD’s and cassettes and yes, we even have some LP records! No ipod.
