There is this concept or mode of thought that mothers require stately, mature, fuddyduddy gifts for her birthday and Mother’s Day. Balderdash! Moms don’t want boring old cards, flowers, or pot holders! No more plain pearls or suede flats, either! Get Mom something FLASHY, something COLORFUL. After years and years of raising all those screaming little brats adorable, loving children, Moms need something bright and shiny- something that says “There’s no one like you, Mom.”
Yes, I’ve been shopping again. What of it?!
Hee hee!
Well, look at these and now you’ll know…. mmmm. I just love that multi gem gold hoop earring set. WOW! Now THAT says “Mom” all over it, doesn’t it?! Pure gorgeous. It’s at my favorite jewelry store, GemzNGold.com. GemzNGold makes all their jewelry here in the U.S. of A. They are based in California. They have the most exquisite works of art in jewelry I’ve ever seen, and the prices are terrific! You have got to go see. Your Mom would want you to. :D

For orders this week (up until May 11th, 2009), every order comes with a free pretty little red jewelry box (makes a lovely gift box for Mom’s new flashy, colorful jewelry piece).
GemzNGold.com is able to sell such beautiful jewelry at low prices because they get their pieces directly from the manufacturer, here in the U.S. Plus, GemzNGold.com has a 30-day 100% satisfaction guarantee, no tax for orders outside California, a lifetime quality guarantee, and great shipping rates! Skip the expensive roses and get her something affordable and that will last forever. Mom would approve. :D

I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com,

I have no problem with cards, but I like homemade cards the best, which is great when your children are very young. It’s the cutest thing ever. But you’re right, a lot of people opt for boring, run of the mill gifts that they resort to every year. It’s nice when you put a little more thought into gift-giving.

I think mom would like a goat. Goat’s are the gift that keep on giving; poop, methane, kids, milk…..

Nancy- aren’t they heavenly?!?! If no one gets them for me, I’m getting them for myself!
Holly- I’m the kind of gal who prefers not to get cards, except the homemade kind, which are fun. Most cards are boring. But my blog pal Daisy the Curly Cat is on a Hallmark Card and I’m going to get that one! http://daisythecurlycat.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-hallmark-card.html
Pricilla- hey, goats are cool, goats are different. Yeah, verrry different. I wouldn’t mind chickens. So there you have it…

Ahhh…I wish you’d recommend people buy handcrafted items. Or make their own items. Purchase directly from the artisan…avoid the middle man and know exactly where your gifts come from. There are even artisans who can make stunning precious earrings like those.

Funny, I just posted about Mother’s Day gifts today too! I suggest a trip to www.arborday.org for a gift that keeps on giving and takes up no space in your mother’s house!
