They had various poodles clipped in all kinds of fancy patterns showing in our press. I think that this takes grooming/dying/clipping a stage too far. Perhaps it should be banned to protect the poor dogs. It is claimed that ‘docking’ tails is either banned or is shortly to be banned so perhaps they should be looking into this as well! :run:

I have seen something similar with cats. Crazy. My hubby just took a new job in NY so we are moving from MN very soon. We are looking at the Ithaca area or possibly Cortland since they are in his territory. Any ideas on where we sould look for good schools and a hockey program. That’s for my 11 yr old.

I think that has to take away any self esteem that poor dog ever had!

That one dog in the middle looks like a sheep crossed with a camel, and I still can’t tell what the red is supposed to be on the first dog’s butt.

I couldn’t do that to my own dog because she’s allergic to everything-dye, scents, her annual vaccines. If I were to dye her hair, her throat would probably swell shut. Not that I would ever consider it. I’m just saying if I woke up one day and felt like dying me dog.

She does, however, love doggy clothes. I know this because whenever I buy her something, put it on her, and then take it off of her, she tries to stick her head back through the shirt or dress on her own. So I guess I could fall under the category of people who dress their dogs up in weird outfits.

With 4 kids you must be paying an awful lot for insurance. We have 3 and pay $1200 a month and with my husband losing a huge contract and $10,000 a month we don’t know how long we will be able to keep paying it. Of course we will be making too much to get any kind of state help. I think there is a HUGE group of people who fall into this category. Health insurance is too expensive and they make too much for any help, so a national Healthcare program seems like a good idea. I mean a lot of people can’t get care period and wouldn’t mind waiting a couple months for an appointment. Can you imagine what it feels like to work your butt off and pay 1000s a month in taxes and NOT be able to receive any type of help when you DO need it because even though you don’t make enough to pay for insurance you make too much to get help. Then you watch people living on welfare and medicaid who should be out working and paying taxes and not sucking all the money out of the system.

We have a lot of family in London who have been on this type of healthcare for a long time. My FIL went through a heart attack and triple bypass using it. My MIL went through 4 pregnancies with it, (her youngest is now 18 so also 4 kids worth of Drs and dentist appointments) with no complaints.

I think that no matter what system is in place it will be abused. The system is abused now. Someone has to do something about the health insurance industry - it definitely isn’t working the way it is right now.
