My son has been doing a very intense writing course in English. The book has him do maybe a dozen little paragraphs every day. He’s tired of writing paragraphs (even though I tell him that’s what I do all day long, too!) and his writing has become a bit droll. As I was proofreading another one of his assignments, one that required him to describe his hometown, I almost hit the floor laughing when I got to his final summary “…and so the dinky little dot on the map of New York is where I live. The End.” LOL!!
In another paragraph about going to Walmart, he dryly wrote:
Walking through Walmart may not be as easy or relaxing as one might think. First there are the children sneezing on everything in sight like some kind of lawn sprinkler. Second there are crabby people whooshing their carts around as if no one else in the world exists. The dry air and cramped aisles make one as thirsty as a camel in the desert. Often times some 80’s song is playing, adding to the chaos. All these combined make my skin crawl; however, one can chose to be joyful, and will often be given plenty of space if one chooses to do so.
LOL!! Think he has a career in blogging?
I have a new little buddy. I picked up the cutest little stuffed animal while browsing stores. I saw it and my heart melted. Isn’t it adorable?!
I carry the little lamb around the house. It fits perfectly in my hand, and so I nuzzle it from time to time as if it was a kitten. Livvy the Cat has expressed only banal interest. She sniffs it heartily, then turns away, disinterested. I carry it around in my shirt pocket, or perch it atop my computer monitor during the day. I like it. 🙂 It’s the next best thing to having another kitten (something we can’t have right now).

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

Oh my goodness, it’s adorable!!! 😀
And I love the paragraph about Walmart! So funny! The only thing he left out is the lighting that strains your eyes. You need sunglasses in there! 😛

Yes, I’d say your son has great writing potential. LOL Cute lamb. Is it sitting on your laptop?

Ha! I’ve been trying to tell them to write from a positive perspective… I guess it’s starting to work!

Oh gosh I loved his Walmart description!!!! That is how I feel about that place too. I cringe when I go there. I try so hard to try to find things at other stores before I go there. I used to like it when it first came here but not anymore.
The little lamb is so cute, something to make you smile throughout the day!!

He described Walmart perfectly!! The only thing he is missing is the fashions-people wear the weirdest things in that store! Pajama pants and slippers seems to be the uniform.
