Ouch, homes are SO expensive! I got a phenomenal deal on mine.. of course, we bought it “as is” and it hasn’t exactly been a cakewalk fixing up all the previous owners’ disaster projects… but it’s Home Sweet Home, and it’s WAY WAY WAY better than renting an apartment. I am NOT “apartment dweller” type, in case you couldn’t tell. I like my privacy- if I want to holler at the kids or sing opera really loudly (speaking hypothetically, of course),
I don’t want to be hampered by “what will the neighbor’s think”! Plus, some of you apartment dwellers have intimated that landlords are still just as lazy and neglectful as they have been for thousands of years. What’s with that?
But homes are so expensive. yikes. HOWEVER… I have some good news for you guys. You can get a very inexpensive home by checking out ForeclosurePatch.com. They are a website listing foreclosed homes, be itAustin Foreclosed Homes or homes in New York. Plus, paying a mortgage on a home can be the same or less than apartment rental charges. I pay less on my monthly home payment than on apartment fees around here. PLUS I have the advantage of owning my home, doing what I want with it, and investing in real estate that increases in value over time. Check out the website- you can search by city, state, or zip code, and whittle your search down to pric or amount of bathrooms. Many of the listings have photos, amenities, and contact numbers for more information. You can also check out Government Homes For Sale at that link. The government doesn’t deserve them, you get one. ;)
