So there I was: slunk over the couch, limpid from the heat while my little window air conditioner sputters to keep the room cool at 76 degrees. I’m surfing my feed reader for interesting tech news, and then it hits me: Engadget’s story on Google’s Street View of Antarctica! Oh yeeeeeeeaaaah!
In a brief burst of excitement, I exclaim to the other melting bodies around me, “Hey, kids- Google has Street View in Antartica!”
My daughter lifts her heat-heavy eyelids and drawls, “How many streets are there in Antarctica?!”
Oh not even the heat and humidity can squelch her satire, nay. Hardy har har. 😉
I gave her the stink eye and sat, “Well, at least it’s all snow!”
The kids gathered ’round and took a look until we could tolerate each other’s body heat no longer.
Pretty cool.
So see ya’all later, I’m going to Antarctica today. 🙂

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE summer! Warm/hot with sunshine, pretty blue skies and no need for coats, boots, hats or gloves! Yippee! No complaints from me as long as I have air conditioning for the above 90 days so I can sleep at night and don’t sweat just sitting around. I would not want to go to Antartica, not even to see seals, walrus or bears. Loving these hazy, lazy days of summer!

I guess I would love summer if my home was air conditioned…. if I could do lawn work without losing most of my fluids…. I also feel less mentally sharp in this warm weather, and I hate that. I feel so invigorated and alert in colder months.

Lin, I even have a snow scene on my computer and phone desktops. I’m trying to trick my brain…. not working very well. :grumble:

:meh: SO TOTALLY JEALOUS! :nonono: You have a/c!! WAHHHHHHH! I slept for *maybe* 3 hrs last night… :whyowhy:

Kristel- if it’s any comfort, I only have a small AC box unit in the office, otherwise all my computer equipment would melt as I use it all day! 😯
I have to sweat it out all night long, too. :ik: I’m never getting a “1-and-a-half-storey” house again. There’s no real attic for the heat to dissipate, ugh!
:whyowhy: I’m ready for winter!!!!!

Yeah, that’s ok. I’m happy for you really. :rollingpin: Our open-ish floor plan does not lend well to conditioning even one area effeciently… If I put a window unit in our office, I’d never leave the room! :coolshades:

Had you written this earlier, I might have wanted to go with you.
Yesterday, the fixed the AC. 😀 Today, I’m content to stay right here. :luvs:

Glad you got your AC fixed, Chuck. Sheesh, that was fast!
