The Best Time of the Year

This is the best time of the year to plan trips, did you know that? Crowds are low, prices are down, and there are some really interesting and unique things to do in winter. We usually take advantage of discounted getaway packages in late-January to early-February. We’re still in the planning stage right now, because everyone was clobbered with a horrible cold. As soon as I can think again (and peel myself away from the Kleenex box), I’m going to check out some deals.

Here’s a sneak peek at a great deal going on right now, a Hilton Branson Escape Package. It’s dirt-cheap! Deluxe accommodations with movie/drinks/breakfast are only $79.00 a night between February 5th and the 8th, 2009. It’s a GREAT deal, especially for a luxury hotel the caliber of Branson. The Hilton Branson complex is located in Branson, Missouri- one of the top-notch entertainment meccas of the country. There are a lot of great winter activities in that area. The Polar Plunge of 2009 sounds like a real blast (to watch, not participate in! brrrr!); there’s an ice carving festival, too- we’d love to see one of those! They have them in Corning, NY, but we have yet to go. And of course, you could never leave the luxurious hotel and still have a great time, with live entertainment and shows.
