The Dreary Days of the Season

It’s been cloudy and rainy here for a few days now. I just love autumn- and even winter!- because the air is cool, mmmm. And I bake bake bake, mmmm. And I love flannel shirts and sweaters, mmmm. But I dislike the cloudy, dreary days. That’s what I miss about summer: the bright sunny daylight. Here in this area of New York State, two-thirds of our days are cloudy; can you believe it?! My house is rather dark. I’ve tried to lighten the place up with brighter colored walls and a few table lamps, but it’s like the dismal weather gobbles up the lamp light.

I’m looking into new sconces for my living room (which doubles as my work office and the kids’ school room). I need this room extremely bright. I purchased some cheapo sconces at the Big Box store when I redid the living room wiring, but I’ve always had it in me to get something bigger and brighter. I think it’s time to shop around. How about you? Are you looking into lighting now that the days are shorter? If you live in the Toronto area, you may be interested in a store that offers some beautiful lighting in toronto. The traditional wall sconces, particularly the Edgartown Single Sconce, are just exquisite. See the website for more details and showroom locations.

As for me, I’d better get planning soon, before winter’s snowstorms hit and then we can’t go anywhere!
