Wow, why can’t I be so lucky?? This kid is unbelievable. He’s 19 years old, gets on The Price is Right, and has an absolutely amazing day. Even Drew Carey starts to jump up and down with anticipation! This is a day he’ll be telling his grandkids about!
Unbelievable. Watching the video, we were pretty amazed at the luxurious stuff that you can win on this show. This kid won’t be working part-time in a dollar store franchise after this, that’s for sure.
I showed the video to the kids and had to explain the TV show. My kids don’t watch television so the concept of a “game show” was quite the education! I told them how, when I was little, my mother watched them every day while we kids were away at school. I remember whenever I was home, sick, I’d sit in front of the TV and waste my mind on game shows: The Price is Right, $10,000 Pyramid, Hollywood Squares, Concentration. Wow, it sure brought me back. The Price is Right has been running for 37 years! Daytime television back then was either talk shows (Merv Griffin), game shows like these, or soap operas. I told the kids that my mother never liked those horrid soap operas, but she sure liked the game shows.
When I said that, my young son turned to me and asked, “What are soap operas?”
HEH HEH! He doesn’t know what soap operas are! yesssssssss! 😀
(In case you’re wondering: why, yes, I do hate most television. See here and here.)

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

I can’t imagine what things would be like around my house without television. Our beautiful, beautiful Dish Network account keeps the kids nice and calm so I can get down to the business of soothing my shattered nerves after a long day.

I used to watch all those same game shows too! Also Family Feud, High Rollers and Password. That was before we had a computer-now my free time is on there pretty much between blogging, dropping EC cards and playing games on http://www.pogo.com. I love that site! Sometimes I’ll read too, but that’s usually when I’m on the bus going to or from work.
