One of the best exercises is walking; did you know this? I took physical therapy for a few years for my spine, and did all sorts of ergonomics exercises, but the best thing I ever did and do, is walking. As a young lady, I used to walk three miles a day, six days a week, to stay in shape. In summers, I try to stick to a daily walking regimen for good health.
It is thrilling to know that walking has such a great effect on the body. And now, walking can be a blessing for other folks, too! I’m participating in the BeeWell Miles program, sponsored by Bumble Bee Tuna! I have always loved Bumble Bee Tuna! They are having this promotion, offering over 15,000 various prizes through October 31st, 2009. All you have to do is log the miles you walk (or run) at the BeeWell Miles website. Bumble Bee Foods is donating 15 cents for every mile logged- up to $200,000 to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength! Last I looked today, the total donation count was $494. That’s a far cry from $200,000, so let’s get walking!
If you’re not into walking/running, you can get the pink labeled Bumble Bee Tuna tuna fish and look for the game codes under the label for prizes, too. Some of the prizes are really sweet. You can win, for example, a bouquet of flowers, and a breast cancer patient will get a bouquet of flowers, too. Other prizes are gift cards, music downloads, and grand prize is a week-long spa vacation! Ooo lala!
Here’s me. Well, my legs. They are helping, too. Haha!
So far, I have walked 4.38 miles in a day. Isn’t that cool! I have earned $.66 for breast cancer funding! That may not look like very much, but hey- I walk anyway and so it’s better than nothing- and if you decided to pitch in, it would be even more. :D This is a win-win for everyone. It costs nothing to enter and there is so much to gain. Check out the BeeWell Miles website for more info.

Now I feel embarrassed by the 2.33 miles I did on the treadmill for BeeWell. That took me 50 minutes to do. It would have taken me nearly two hours to walk as far as you.
In my own defense, it was the first time I had been on the treadmill in months so give me time.
My leg and butt muscles are still trying to recover at the moment.

Staci, don’t feel bad! I planned my walking on a day I had to run out and do errands all day long. Any other day, I barely get a mile in, cuz I’m a Work At Home Mom and my butt is always planted in my desk chair. :-p Oh I am jealous of your treadmill, tho!
I would love one of those!! I’m not saying I would USE one of those, I would just love to have one, ha!!
Enjoy! I liked your post about the walk.
