Found a TOTALLY cool blog: Sleevenotes at www.991.typepad.com. It’s A Blog about Collecting Rare Vinyl 7″, 12″ . It’s the blog accompaniment (literally!) to the popular 991.com online store, the classic collectibles music store that tracks down and sells very rare music (LPs and CDs) and music memorabilia. If you are into music, any kind of music but especially stuff from the 60s to the 90s, this is a really amazing site to check out. And oh man, did I feel OLD. I mean, remember Duran Duran?! Anyone?! (*crickets chirping*) Haha! I know if you are around age 40, you remember them… you DO, don’t you? 991 has the Live at Hammersmith ’82 LP!
Well anyway, the blog chats about all sorts of groups, new and old, and about the collectibles and memorabilia. It’s a little new-ish, started up in February, but it’s off to a really great start. Get music news, updates on “old” favorites- and I really mean old! I love the “Separated at Birth” posts. YES!! David Lee Roth DOES look like Dirk “Face” Benedict!! OMG!

GAH! I remember Roth when he had long, wild blonde hair. He got gray?! And look at those wrinkles!
Anyway, Sleevenotes is pretty cool. They have news and information about the music and personalities of all the music giants- Michael Jackson, U2, Mariah Carey, Jimi Hendrix, Olivia Newton John, Bon Jovi, Simply Red, the Beatles, Elvis Costello- loads more. The blog is entertaining and has some very witty writing. It also highlights new collections coming in to the store. If you are into music or just want a little trip down memory lane, check it out.
In case you’re wondering why it’s called 991- it’s a take on the quantity of a collection- you may own 99% of a complete series but are still searching for the 1%. 991 closes the gap. ;) A must see for music fans!
