We traveled out to Auburn, NY, recently and had a little extra time before heading home. On a whim, we stopped at the William Seward Home and Historic Site in downtown. I knew very little about the man (something about Alaska and Abraham Lincoln?) but what I learned on the visit knocked my socks off.
Since I don’t have anything else to offer today (the blog well is as dry as the brown bits of grass), maybe you’d like to learn a little about Seward, too. I have written the posts in 3 parts (the third is not yet published).
The William Seward House, Auburn, NY: Abolition, John Wilkes Booth, and Manifest Destiny Part 1
The William Seward House, Auburn, NY: Abolition, John Wilkes Booth, and Manifest Destiny Part 2
Stay cool!

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

I read the first article and bookmarked the second for later. Very interesting stuff that’s for sure. Love the statue, very cute.

Thank you so much for leaving words of comfort for me on the passing of my beloved cat, Alex. Marc and I are heartbroken. We know we did the right thing, and every day we realize how much Alex was “preparing us” during the last few weeks, but it doesn’t make it any easier. We can’t stop the tears…. But having wonderful friends, like you, and the support of the CB is making it better….
