Is it just the season? A conspiracy? Or just a massive wave of ineptitude and error? I have been having a good share of web hosting problems this summer and fall… and a lot of my friends have been, too. There’s been a massive shift of some people in my online community from one host (which started out good but went downhill) to another, more reliable company. How I wish I’d known about WebHostingGeeks and their web hosting blog before I got started choosing my web hosts. A good friend had once told me not to “put all my eggs in one basket,” but web hosting can be pretty expensive! I have accounts with two different companies, but now I’m starting to think I need to have another under my belt. It is tough for us “little guys” when hosting goes down or there is a technical problem. I have been trying to earn as much as I can about the ropes of hosting, but I’m really still at the mercy of tech support (and they aren’t always helpful).
I have found the Internet to be absolutely essential. When I have a problem or an issue, the first thing I do is search online. Web Hosting Geeks has some really helpful articles, tips, and reviews. They rate and review domain companies and hosting companies, have loads of information on hosting, marketing, and other interesting articles related to websites. I have them bookmarked for those “down” days and also because I am now shopping around for hosting companies.
