I saw this Recession Survival Quiz at Fearless Blog. While I seriously doubt my entire personality can be sliced, diced, and regurgitated in a neat little red box after answering ten multiple choice questions, I thought I’d try it. I’m such an adventurous lass, I know. :D
I could possibly be a Thinker, or a Realist, or a Believer, a Connector, or a Fighter. Hmmmm… this is my result. (By the way, that’s not my photo, haha!)

I am not 100% percent sure that this quiz has me pinned down correctly, because a few questions didn’t contain the answers I’d have preferred. And some of the answers were outright goofy. Like this one:
- Your house burns to the ground in a fire and your insurance won’t cover your claims.
- Fight for as much as I can get
- Analyze my policy to determine how to collect for losses
- Stay with family or friends until I recover
- Hire a top lawyer, even though my policy clearly doesn’t cover my claim
- Trust God’s plan and pray for His help
Uh, “trust God’s plan”?! God didn’t plan to burn my house down! What kind of goofiness is that? I’ll certainly trust God, but I’m not going to be an idiot and think God is cursing me or something.
Or this one:
- You are on a trip and your wallet with cash, ID and credit cards is stolen.
One of the choices is:
- Forgive the thief and pray for help getting your wallet back
That is so lame! It makes it sound like a believer is a limpid, wet dishrag who allows crooks to walk all over him! I don’t think the author of this quiz knows anything about being a real believer. :-p A better answer would be:
- Punch the thief in the face, grab back your wallet, and ask the thief to forgive you.

Well, anyway, it’s a QUIZ, for pete’s sake. I don’t think my phone will suddenly be abuzz with offers to take over Microsoft or Apple…. or the First Church of Brotherly Love… lol.

Hi Rebecca
Great analysis and accurate critique. I am so glad you pointed out some of the silliness in the quiz. I too had to stop a few times and debate the questions and the answers. Actually, there were questions that did not have anything close to what I would have answered. But Ben Sherwood sure is getting a lot time in the spot light lately because of his book and his quizzes and of course thanks to Glenn Beck. Heck, if stuff like this can get us to think and perhaps even prepare, then the silliness may all be worth it. Thanks for the mention.

Warren Buffet and Rupert Murdoch - not too bad. I would have preferred being able to mark more than 1 answer - like pray AND act instead of pray OR act.
