It’s been busy here. When I’m very busy, I’m usually feeling stressed or rushed. I’m learning (finally) how to slooooooow down, even when there’s a lot to do. Sometimes it’s mighty difficult to keep from shooting off at the mouth when I’m busy or when things are not going as quickly or as well as I’d like. So I’m reminded of a proverb I memorized years ago. It keeps me steady when I feel the temptation to grumble or complain or gripe.
In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking; but he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:19
It’s a very good verse to memorize. 🙂
What verse have you memorized, that bubbles up from time to time when you need it?

Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I'm a freelance writer for national media outlets like USAToday.com, Salon.com, and others. I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

Amen! This is very good.
James 1:5 is my life’s verse. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God Who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given him.” There have been many times where all I could do was ask God for wisdom to know what to do next. The awesome thing is that God always gives it. God is sooooo good!

I have two actually:
James 1:19
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
AND
Colossians 3:2
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
