A Day to Cuddle in the Sofa Bed With Coffee and a Bible….

Blabber

*sigh*

What a crazy day I’ve had so far. Just one of *those* days, if you know what I mean. I spent the entire day yesterday setting up the new Magic Jack telephone service (you can make and receive phone calls for free, using your computer and a regular phone)… but for some reason, it wouldn’t work on one of the computers I’d set up for it. Grrr. So I wrangled with settings and FINALLY got it to work. Went to bed, whew. Woke up the next morning… and the phone was off. huh?? So I had to tinker with it again this morning. I found out later than my husband missed a call from work telling him he had to come in early that morning. This is the second time this has happened with the Magic Jack device, so the husband was none too happy. It’s just WEIRD that when I test it, it works FINE. But when his boss calls, IT DOESN’T WORK. Gah! :gah:

Well, anyway, I did get it to work. For now, lol. Here’s hoping the boss doesn’t call!!

Once that episode was over, I drove out to run errands. I was just going to quickly get the necessaries (milk, eggs, broccoli) but the traffic was pretty intense even at 9am, and then everyone is having billions of sales on everything from sofa beds to laptops. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for deals on certain items we need around here, so I dawdled looking at the sales. Didn’t find anything, even though the bedroom furniture sales were sweet. I don’t like to buy on impulse, so I just digested the cost, the quality, the discount… and decided to wait. We’ll see.

Well, on the drive on the way home, my left eye went wonky. I can’t explain it except to say that all of a sudden, I saw a massive floater and some streaks of light inside my eye. Because my myopia, I must be careful of my retinas. Actually, a miracle occurred a few years ago with them- I was diagnosed with the beginning stages of retinal degeneration about 20 years ago, and they say that this always gets worse with age. Well, my retinas have been improving! I had an exam in July, and the doc said the retinas looked healthy! How’s that for a miracle, huh? 😀 😀

But today, my vision in my eye was suddenly bad. It looked like a “floater” to me, but because of my myopia, I was concerned that something was wrong, so I went to the opthamologist (sp?) to have him check it out. I greatly dislike doctors’ office, so my heart was beating furiously and I was going bananas because I wanted to be home. The waiting is the worst part. He dilated my pupil and said that I had a pretty “chunky” floater that was affecting my vision. It would go away in a few weeks. Because it’s so large, it’s very annoying. :-p

I was happy that’s all it was, but the dilation procedure and the blurry vision in my eye is making me feel very discombobulated. I want to go to back to bed. I want to cuddle up in my warm blankets and not work on computers or technical problems or see goofy floating strings in my eye.

It’s just one of those days. Think I’ll read the psalms, they always make me feel better.
