Yankee or Johnny Reb?

Fun

Do I really need to tell you? Despite my honey-sweet Southern hospitality and charming wit and demeanor… I am ALL Yankee. “The heart of Yankeedom: New Yawk and New Joisey.” Dat’s me! :D Proud of it. I keep those single syllabic words SINGLE, mind you. ;)

Here’s my proof: I took an Internet quiz! If that doesn’t settle it, I don’t know what does!

0% Dixie. Need help digging out of the snow?
Are You a Yankee or a Rebel? Quiz

I’m surprised I didn’t get a negative number for Dixie. I’m not 100% Yankee, however, having a healthy “Mid-Atlantic” vocabulary and accent. In drama school in Manhattan, we had to take Voice & Speech to rid ourselves of any colloquialisms and accents. Some people had a really, really difficult time doing it, especially those from Germany, Massachusetts, and Georgia.

Anyway, it’s a cute quiz, complied by a “specialist.” Oo la la. If you go for it, tell me what score you got!

I love that quiz, and I am amazed that you got 0%. I can’t remember my percentage, but my description says “Just south of the Mason-Dixon line” which is 100% correct! My husband gets something like, “95% Dixie…can you breathe down there?”
